special sounds: ay in stay, cr in crib, y in fly, ou in pout, ch and ur in church, ar in farm, pr and ay in pray, or in born, wor in work, o in no
spell these words: no new words
We will practice these in class every day!
Social Sciences: We will continue our unit on weather.
Reading: Comprehension test on Thursday! :)
Spelling: This week we will have 12 spelling words and 5 bonus words. We will have a spelling test every Friday. Students will write these words when I call them out. Students should learn the 12 spelling words first. For a challenge, they can also learn the five bonus words. All students will take the bonus portion of the test. For each bonus word spelled correctly, the student will get 1 extra point on the test. There is no penalty for spelling a bonus word incorrectly.

Bible: We will have a Bible verse each week. Students will say the verse to me.
Bible Verse: Proverbs 3:5 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.”

Creative Writing: Students will continue to practice writing complete sentences using capital letters at the beginning and periods at the end. We will continue learning the parts of a sentence. We will be writing super sentences. All sentences should have these four parts:
Begin with a capital letter.
End with a punctuation mark.
Make sense.
Be written neatly.
