Thursday, April 7 : CLASS PICTURES! NO NUT CARDS!
During the week of April 4th-8th, please send in new flip flops. They may be any size and for men, women, or children. The flip flops will be donated to the Savannah Baptist Center. The goal of the Baptist Center is to meet the physical, spiritual, and emotional needs of the homeless population in Savannah. Those who are in need may take a shower and do their laundry at the Center. Flip flops are given out to each individual to take a shower, and they are incredibly useful as well. Thank you for your continued support as we develop the whole person to the Glory of God!

Math: This week we will continue chapter 11 - Addition and Subtraction Strategies
Timed Tests: We will continue taking timed tests each week. The students are doing a great job. Continue practicing the facts listed below. We will continue to have a subtraction timed test on Tuesday and an addition timed test on Thursday.
For subtraction, we will have 20 problems in 4 minutes and we will be subtracting 6.
For addition, we will have complete 50 problems in 3 minutes.

Social Sciences: We will continue learning about land forms.
Reading: Don't forget to read your books on Wednesday night and be ready for a test on Thursday! :)
Spelling: Beginning this week we will have 15 spelling words and 5 bonus words. We will have a spelling test every Friday. Students will write these words when I call them out. This week five bonus words will be added to the list. Students should learn the 15 spelling words first. For a challenge, they can also learn the five bonus words. All students will take the bonus portion of the test. For each bonus word spelled correctly, the student will get 1 extra point on the test. There is no penalty for spelling a bonus word incorrectly.

Bible: We will have a Bible verse each week. Students will say the verse to me.

Please make sure you are practicing all the verses so we can be prepared for them.
Psalm 23:1 “The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.”
Psalm 23:2 “He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside still waters.”
Handwriting: We will practice writing words in our best handwriting. PLEASEEEE make sure you are still working on correct letter formation and line placement.
Creative Writing: Students will continue to practice writing complete sentences using capital letters at the beginning and periods at the end. I will introduce question marks this week. We will continue learning the parts of a sentence. We will be writing super sentences. All sentences should have these four parts:
Begin with a capital letter.
End with a punctuation mark.
Make sense.
Be written neatly.
