May 23rd-26th: ½ Days of School. Students may only come out of uniform on the LAST day of school. The other half-days are still considered uniform days.
Math: This week we will be reviewing all of the major concepts we have covered this year: time, money, regrouping, fact families, etc.
Timed Tests: We have finished for the year! WOO-HOO! I would encourage you all to continue reviewing math facts and taking timed tests over the summer. Math Fact Café is a great website where you can create your own timed tests.
Phonics: We will not have a test, but we will cover the following in class this week:
short vowel blends: no new blends
long vowel blends: no new blends
special sounds: ou in country, ire in tire, est in fullest, air in hair, ear in earth, en in enjoy
spell these words: milk, law, table, also, cupful, lunch
syllables: September, turkey, Cinderella
prefixes: no new prefixes
Reading: We will continue reading throughout the week, but we will not test.
Spelling: We will not take any graded tests this week. We will still introduce a new spelling list so that we stay in our routines for the last full week of school and we will still be learning in the classroom.
