Thursday, April 27th 10:00-12:00: Field Trip UGA Marine Education Center and Aquarium. No parents will be able to join us due to space limitations. Students will need to bring a lunch from home. Students should wear their field trip t-shirts and comfortable shoes.
Saturday, April 29th: Super Saturday! Be sure to mark your calendar and come out for a day of Raider Family Fun!
Wednesday, May 3rd at 8:40: Book Character Parade! PK-1st Grades may come dressed in a costume or hat of their favorite book character. They will carry their book as they walk. Please do not wear anything scary, and do not bring toy weapons. They also need to be able to manage getting to the bathroom throughout the day all on their own. So nothing too elaborateJ
Thursday, May 4th: National Day of Prayer. We will have our chapel for the week out at the flagpole at 8:45.
May 23rd-26th: ½ Days of School
May 26th: Last day of School!!!! Class party at 11:00. Parents are welcome (please no siblings due to space).
Math: We will take a Diagnostic Checkpoint on Tuesday and then continue chapter 10: Cups, Pints, Quarts and Liters
Timed Tests: We will continue taking timed tests each week. The students are doing a great job. Continue practicing the facts listed below.
For subtraction, we will have 20 problems in 4 minutes and we will be subtracting 6.
For addition, we will have complete 50 problems in 3 minutes.

Reading: We will continue reading in groups and take a Comprehension test Wednesday this week due to the field trip on Thursday.
Spelling: This week we will have 15 spelling words and 5 bonus words. We will have a spelling test every Friday. Students will write these words when I call them out. This week five bonus words will be added to the list. Students should learn the 15 spelling words first. For a challenge, they can also learn the five bonus words. All students will take the bonus portion of the test. For each bonus word spelled correctly, the student will get 1 extra point on the test. There is no penalty for spelling a bonus word incorrectly.

Creative Writing: Students will continue to practice writing complete sentences using capital letters at the beginning and periods at the end. I will introduce question marks this week. We will continue learning the parts of a sentence. We will be writing super sentences. All sentences should have these four parts:
Begin with a capital letter.
End with a punctuation mark.
Make sense.
Be written neatly.
They should also have a naming part and a telling part!
Homework:
Monday: Math sheet, study Bible verse, spelling words, phonics sounds and math facts.
Tuesday: Math Sheet, study Bible verse, spelling words, phonics sounds, and math facts
