Tuesday, August 23rd - Signed Papers go home. Please sign them and return the next day.
Friday, August 26th - Picture Day - Free Non-Uniform. Please follow all non-uniform guidelines.
Monday, September 5th - Labor Day - No School
Math: This week we will have a Diagnostic Checkpoint. We will also learn the following: 1 and 2 More, 1 and 2 Fewer, Comparing Numbers 5 and to 10, Ordering Numbers through 12.
Timed Tests: Our first timed test will be this week. Start practicing the facts listed below. Students will have five minutes to complete 20 problems.
1+0=1; 1+1=2; 1+2=3; 1+3=4; 1+4=5; 1+5=6; 1+6=7; 1+7=8; 1+8=9; 1+9=10
Phonics: We will have our first Phonics this week (FRIDAY) on the following:
-students should know the 5 vowels and consonant sounds s, l, c/k, b, n, t. They also need to know the blends: na, li, te, su, ca, and nu.
Social Sciences: We will continue our Unit on Schools. We will talk about our School Workers, Students Long ago and Today and Learning Around the World.
Reading: We will continue reading groups this week. We will be reading in class for the next week or two. We will start comprehension tests in September. Look for more information soon.
Spelling: We will have a spelling test every Friday. Students will write these words when I call them out.

Bible: We will continue our unit on Creation this week. We will have a Bible verse each week. Students will say the verse to me.
Bible Verse: "God saw all that he had made, and it was very good." Genesis 1:31a
Handwriting: We will begin learning how to form the letters. This week we will learn E, F, G, H.
Creative Writing: Students will practice writing complete sentences using capital letters at the beginning and periods at the end. They will write sentences with their spelling words. We are forming sentences with naming and telling parts (subject and predicate).
