Math: This week we will take our test on Chapter 7 and begin Chapter 8 on Place Value.
Timed Tests: We will continue taking timed tests each week. The students are doing a great job. Continue practicing the facts listed below. We will take addition and subtraction tests this week.
For subtraction, we will have 20 problems in 5 minutes and we will be subtracting 3 and 4.
For addition, we will have 50 problems in 3 minutes. This is our goal for the year! Woo-hoo!

Bible: We will have a Bible verse each week. Students will say the verse to me. We will be learning about Jesus and the Lost Sheep.
Bible Verse: John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”
Handwriting: We will continue learning how to form the letters. We are working on correct formation, size and placement.
Creative Writing: Students will continue to practice writing complete sentences using capital letters at the beginning and periods at the end. I will introduce question marks this week. We will continue learning the parts of a sentence. We will be writing super sentences. All sentences should have these four parts:
Begin with a capital letter.
End with a punctuation mark.
Make sense.
Be written neatly.
They will write sentences with their spelling words, and write in their journals daily. We will write about President's Day and Georgia Day.
